Passionate about aircraft technology? As an aviation technician in manned aviation, you’ll maintain and repair aircraft and helicopters.
Do you dream of maintaining and repairing aircraft and helicopters? Can you see yourself working as an airport inspector or flight planner? With the perfect mix of theory and hands-on experience, the Manned Aviation Technology programme will get you off the ground – and into the aviation industry. Ready? Set? Fly!
- You’ll build a broad foundation in aviation and specialise in aircraft maintenance and engines.
- In your first two years, you’ll discover the full world of aviation: aircraft and helicopter technology, engines, flight planning, weather maps, radio navigation, and even green aviation.
- In your third year, you’ll specialise in manned aviation. That means diving deeper into helicopter and propeller systems, aircraft maintenance, aircraft manufacturing techniques, avionics, turbine engines, and aviation law.
- Throughout the programme, you’ll combine solid theory with hands-on practice: from building your own model aircraft to actual flight training and a two-month aviation internship.
- This is a one-of-a-kind programme in Flanders.

As always at VIVES: small class sizes and personal guidance. Each course also explores the possibilities of AI and emerging technologies in your field of study. This is done in cooperation with The Flax, our own House of AI, ensuring you are 100% prepared for the future.
You will obtain the EASA Part-66 licence (Aircraft Maintenance Licence).
- A top-notch training centre. The Flemish Aviation Training Centre in Ostend – where VIVES teams up with several partners – has everything you need to turn your aviation into reality: simulators, engines, and aircraft.
- Internship at home or abroad. Aviation is international by nature. So of course, you can do your internship abroad. In your final semester, you even have the chance to go all the way and study at one of our partner universities overseas.
- Inspiring company visits. There’s no better way to learn than in the real world. That’s why we take you on visits to major airports, North Sea Helicopters Flanders and NorthSea Flight Simulation.
