There were many reasons why I decided to study abroad. The main ones were my desire to leave my comfort zone, explore the world, start an independent life, and challenge myself. I wanted to experience new situations, overcome difficulties, and learn from them.
I chose the Netherlands because of its international environment. People from all over the world live and study here, and I was excited about the opportunity to meet different cultures, hear new perspectives, and make friends from many countries.
When I applied to university, the process was much easier than I expected. I was not the best student at school, so I thought admission would be much more difficult. However, with Kastu's help, everything went smoothly. They explained each step clearly, provided all the necessary information, and saved me a lot of time and stress. I am very grateful for their support.
The first months in the Netherlands passed incredibly quickly. I am very happy that I found the courage to move here because life is completely different. I have more freedom, I am learning to take responsibility for myself, and I have even managed to find a job and support myself.
One of the biggest challenges was finding accommodation. Luckily, my university provided me with a room for the first year, which made the transition much easier.
Before coming here, I expected studying abroad to be extremely difficult and thought I would have no free time. Surprisingly, my experience has been different. I have enough time for studying, work, sports, friends, and enjoying student life.
Many students worry about their English before moving abroad. I had the same concerns. Sometimes I still need to translate words during lectures, but it has never stopped me from understanding the material, communicating with others, or completing my tasks. You don't need perfect English to start—your confidence improves naturally every day.
My advice to anyone thinking about studying abroad is simple:
Don't overthink it—take the opportunity.
Everyone I have met here from different countries is happy that they made the decision to move abroad. This experience will help you become more independent, discover new possibilities, set new goals, and see the world from a completely different perspective.
The beginning may feel challenging, but the difficulties are usually much easier to overcome than they seem before you start. The most important step is simply having the courage to begin.
