Today, businesses around the world face unprecedented challenges: climate change, urbanisation, migration and shifting economic powers are but a few. Often enough though, these problems result in unexpected business opportunities. At the Master of Business Administration (MBA) of The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS) you’ll learn to grasp those opportunities. Our strong focus on businesses’ social and environmental responsibility and our international perspective are a few of the reasons our graduates actually make a difference and trump shortsighted business executives.
At THUAS’ MBA you’ll go through four study phases. Firstly, you’ll lay a solid foundation and follow basic courses such as Organisational Behaviour, Accounting and Economics. In the second and third phase you’ll deepen the knowledge you acquire in the first term with Statistics, Corporate Finance, Strategic Management and multiple group projects. You’ll conclude the MBA with a Master Thesis in the fourth phase. Alongside these general subjects you’ll also work on your professional skills to give you that typical THUAS’ MBA edge and a competitive advantage in the business world.
Whenever you mention the word MBA during a job interview, you’ll be sure to grab everyone’s attention. And that’s hardly surprising, considering an MBA is the most prestigious Master among business professionals. What’s more, studying at The Hague University of Applied Sciences means you have the opportunity to hone your business skills at some of the top multinationals in the world, such as Shell, Siemens, KPN, T-Mobile, Huawei, Unilever and DSM. During the THUAS’ MBA you will learn how to apply business theory to true-to-life scenarios. MBA students explore up-to-date case studies and role-play as business consultants advising organisations on current issues they are struggling with. Business administration, management skills, entrepreneurship, human resources and strategy are at the very core of MBA’s curriculum. What further sets the THUAS’ MBA apart is its evident emphasis on the practical side of business studies. To complement the regular curriculum you can expect multiple large-scale projects, such as the Bangladesh Garment Project and the Costa Rica Pineapple Project. But we also arrange plenty of company visits during the year to remind MBA students what their professional future has in store. Last year, for example, we visited De Jong Packaging, a Dutch packaging facility, and Persgroep Publishing, one of the largest media conglomerates in The Netherlands.
