Możliwości kariery
At a time when sustainability and livability are getting increasingly important, the future lies in your hands. The Built Environment programme offers you the chance to reshape cities, villages and infrastructure.

Learn how to (re)develop urban and rural areas, create sustainable mobility solutions and translate your plans into spatial designs. Design not only the world around you, but also your own future!

Specialisations

After the first semester in year 1, you will make a choice from one of the three specialisations:

  • Mobility. The world of mobility is in a state of flux, with innovations coming in rapid succession. Think of smart mobility, shared mobility, new vehicle technologies, the rise of cycling and walking, and the use of big data. In this specialisation, you will dive into these developments. Not only will you be introduced to these groundbreaking themes, but you will also have the opportunity to actively contribute to the future of mobility.
  • Spatial Planning. You will ensure that new plans for the city are in line with the wishes of residents, the municipality, businesses and other stakeholders. You will take into account the latest social and technological developments, and study  trends in living, working and undertaking recreational activities. You will make plans that are financially feasible and comply with the law. You will supervise the entire process, from idea to implementation, thus contributing to the sustainable and future-oriented growth of cities.
  • Urban Design. In this specialisation, you will learn to make urban design plans for different types of areas, from new sustainable neighbourhoods to urban redevelopments. You will also work on designs for entire regions and rural areas. In our design workshops, you will bring your ideas to life by building models. This is how you develop the practical and creative skills you need to help build the future of cities and regions.

In design workshops you will attend classes delivered by specialists from the field who will teach you all about the required design skills. You work on projects together with fellow-students. You attend courses and training sessions in small groups. You can find detailed information about planning, courses and projects in the course catalogue of Built Environment (pdf).

Przed aplikacją sprawdź wymagania bezpośrednio na stronie uczelni. W przypadku problemów ze znalezieniem szczegółowych, aktualnych wymagań, skontaktuj się z konsultantami Kastu.

Please be aware of the fact that many graduates start at the bottom of the career ladder - in assistant positions - and work their way up to management positions.

Obtain a Master's Degree

If you choose to continue your studies, there are plenty of possibilities. Breda University of Applied Sciences has made a collaborative arrangement with two education institutes, allowing better preparation for and completion of your further studies.

FH Joanneum, Austria

You can move on to further study at a professional master’s programme in Energy & Transport Management at FH Joanneum in Kapfenberg (Austria, near Graz). Since there is an overlap between this master’s programme and the specialisation area Mobility, this two-year master’s track can be reduced to 14 months.

Utrecht University

You can transfer to the academic master’s programme in Spatial Planning or Human Geography at Utrecht University. The transition between the specialisation areas Mobility and Spatial Planning and these master’s programmes has been optimised. The pre-master’s programme can be combined with the last year at Breda University of Applied Sciences, after which students can gain direct access to Utrecht University to complete a master’s programme in one year’s time.

More possibilities for transfer programmes

Upon completion of the programme in Built Environment students can transfer to various master’s programmes in the field. To be able to transfer to an academic master’s programme, you will first have to attend a pre-master’s programme. The pre-master’s programme will be offered at the relevant universities. Upon completion of such a track, you can obtain a Master of Science (MSc) degree at various universities in one year’s time.
