Manufacturing Engineering (1 year)
Train to plan, design, develop and integrate processes, systems, machines and tools for production of high-quality products. Fully English-taught, University West’s one-year Master’s Programme in Manufacturing Engineering cooperates closely with industry, incorporating recent virtual methods, new materials and new manufacturing processes. WORK INTEGRATED LEARNING
University West is Sweden’s leading university for Work Integrated Learning (WIL). The university was tasked with the development of WIL by the Swedish government 15+ years ago and continues to lead the field today. WIL allows you to put your knowledge and skills into practice within real-world contexts.
Guest lecturers from industry introduce you to real projects from their companies, and you’ll attend company visits throughout the programme. Your training concludes with a degree project, usually in the form of a company assignment or work with a research group within Production Technology West, specialising in production processes in the manufacturing industry.
ADVANCED LABORATORY AND ACCESS TO EXPERTS
As a Manufacturing Engineering student you will have access to the Production Technology Centre (PTC) during your studies. PTC is one of the largest and newest manufacturing laboratories in Sweden, equipped with industrial research facilities such as metal powder and wire additive manufacturing (3D printing), robot welding and thermal spraying cells, machine tools and materials analysis equipment. Here you will have the opportunity to do research and experimental work in collaboration with experienced researchers, engineers and technicians in the field of manufacturing engineering.

- Wykaz punktów ECTS – osoby, które są jeszcze w trakcie studiów, muszą załączyć wypis punktów ECTS, w którym będzie wykazane, jakie przedmioty były realizowane na studiach oraz ile punktów za nie otrzymano.
- Dyplom ukończenia studiów licencjackich lub inżynierskich – jeśli jesteś absolwentem wyższej uczelni, nie potrzebujesz wypisu, wystarczy załączyć dyplom ukończenia studiów wraz z suplementem (oryginał z tłumaczeniem przysięgłym)
Spełnienie wymagań w zakresie języka angielskiego można udokumentować w następujący sposób:
- Certyfikatu językowego nie potrzebują osoby, które ukończyły szkołę średnią i posiadają świadectwo maturalne ze zdanym rozszerzeniem z języka angielskiego.
- IELTS - 6.5 (co najmniej 5.5 z każdej części)
- TOEFL – 90 (w tym minimum 20 z pisania, skala to 0-30)

You will be considered for admission to the Master in Manufacturing Engineering if you fulfil the following entry requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, materials science and engineering or the equivalent. The degree must include at least 7.5 credits of materials science and at least 15 credits of mathematics including basic knowledge of analysis, linear algebra and statistics.
Companies of all sizes need manufacturing engineers to handle tasks and challenges relevant to manufacturing processes. These challenges include planning and development of manufacturing processes, development of new manufacturing methods or improving existing methods. From this master’s programme you will gain skills enhancing your career in different sectors of the manufacturing field:
Operations management skills to plan and manage production units
Research skills to solve problems in a variety of manufacturing fields
Scientific fundamentals of manufacturing processes affecting the properties of materials, the performance of final products, or the economy of the manufacturing process
FURTHER EDUCATION
After graduating from this master’s programme you will be eligible to continue studying as a PhD student in Sweden or elsewhere. University West offers a doctoral degree programme within the field of production technology.
