This Erasmus Mundus Master in International Law of Global Security, Peace and Development is taught over 24 months and includes at least three mobility periods:

Semester 1: University of Glasgow
Semester 2: Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals
Semester 3: Radboud University Nijmegen (or one of the other partner universities)
Semester 4: dissertation (in Glasgow, Barcelona or Nijmegen)

Wymagania rekrutacyjne

Na studia magisterskie mogą kandydować wszyscy, którzy ukończyli studia licencjackie lub inżynierskie (studia I stopnia), studia magisterskie lub studiują na ostatnim roku studiów I-stopnia. Studia, które planujesz powinny mieć zbliżony profil do tych obecnych lub ukończonych, ponieważ w procesie rekrutacji kluczowa jest ich zgodność programowa.

  • Wykaz punktów ECTS – osoby, które są jeszcze w trakcie studiów, muszą załączyć wypis punktów ECTS, w którym będzie wykazane, jakie przedmioty były realizowane na studiach oraz ile punktów za nie otrzymano.
  • Dyplom ukończenia studiów licencjackich lub inżynierskich – jeśli jesteś absolwentem wyższej uczelni, nie potrzebujesz wypisu, wystarczy załączyć dyplom ukończenia studiów wraz z suplementem (w języku angielskim lub oryginał z tłumaczeniem)

Wymagania odnośnie języka angielskiego

Spełnienie wymagań w zakresie języka angielskiego można udokumentować w następujący sposób:

  • IELTS – 6.5
  • TOEFL - 90

Honours degree or non-UK equivalent in law.

We will also consider applications from other relevant subjects, such as Politics, International Relations, European Studies or War Studies, if as part of the degree, you have gained a basic understanding of the operation of law in an international context.

You are required to submit a personal statement explaining why you want to undertake the LLM, International Law of Global Security, Peace & Development.

Non-law graduates may require a minimum of credits in law depending on their Semester 3 pathway selection at point of entry to the programme. Please see below. 

In order to select Université libre de Bruxelles in semester 3, you have to:

  1. Hold an undergraduate or Master’s degree (or equivalent), representing at least 240 ECTS credits (or 4 years of studies) in law or other relevant subjects;
  2. Have passive knowledge of French (however all assessments can be undertaken in English)

In order to select Radboud University in semester 3, you have to:

  1. Have an undergraduate degree in law with 150 ECTS in legal courses.

The ADS Master’s programme offers students a unique skill set that prepares them for a broad range of jobs. These skills are based on a combination of an open, investigative and reflective attitude, sociological imagination, theory-driven analysis of diverse life worlds, inequality and power, and the capacity to weigh the necessity and possibility of interventions in a pragmatic way. At the end of the Master you are capable of conducting your own research, know how to find your feet in diverse settings, assess and analyze complex situations and communicate your findings to various audiences.

Possible jobs are that of a policy officer, advisor, or researcher for the central or local government, an advisor at aid, welfare and civil society organisations such as the UN, Cordaid or the Dutch Council for Refugees, a researcher at a university or NGO, trade union, consultancy firm or private institution or as a journalist or communication officer.

After completing your Master's, you’ll have the option of doing the Advanced Master’s in International Development (AMID). This one-year postgraduate programme is unique in the Netherlands. During this programme, you’ll combine real-life work at an (aid) organisation or a government department (4 days) with practice-based instruction at the university (1 day). This programme will seriously boost your chances on the labour market.
