International Food Quality and Health
Introduction

With a Master’s degree in International Food Quality and Health you will have a firm grasp of the journey of food products from farm to fork. Through the programme you will gain an understanding of the food chain across different disciplines by immersing yourself in subjects such as sustainable food production, food safety, food quality, nutrition and marketing for the international market.
A degree with a global perspective
The growing population and improved welfare of the world call for an unprecedented focus on sustainability and resource-efficient food production as well as the ability to meet a growing demand for high-quality food products – nowhere more so than in China. As the income of Chinese consumers rises, so does the demand for greater quality, convenience and safety in food. Hence, the Chinese food industry is investing heavily in technology and has a great demand for innovation and know-how in order to be able to meet the needs of the population.
The global market for food and food technology is growing rapidly, and the Danish food industry has a unique opportunity to maintain and strengthen its position as an innovator and a supplier of high-quality products.
As a graduate of International Food Quality and Health you will be able to meet these needs of the food industries, especially within the companies focussed on expanding their markets beyond Danish and European borders towards Asia and China in particular.
The programme teaches you to initiate, manage and implement food-relevant development projects, and you will acquire strong competences within food quality, innovation and cultural perceptions of food, which are relevant for a career in e.g. the food industry and public sector. The programme further opens up for a career in academia, as graduates can apply for PhD project positions at the Danish Universities.
On completion of the programme, you receive a double degree and the following titles: Master of Science in International Food Quality and Health from Aarhus University and Master of Science in Food Safety and Health from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Na studia magisterskie mogą kandydować wszyscy, którzy ukończyli studia licencjackie lub inżynierskie (studia I stopnia), studia magisterskie lub studiują na ostatnim roku studiów I-stopnia. Studia, które planujesz powinny mieć zbliżony profil do tych obecnych lub ukończonych, ponieważ w procesie rekrutacji kluczowa jest ich zgodność programowa.
Wykaz punktów ECTS – osoby, które są jeszcze w trakcie studiów, muszą załączyć wypis punktów ECTS, w którym będzie wykazane, jakie przedmioty były realizowane na studiach oraz ile punktów za nie otrzymano.
Dyplom ukończenia studiów licencjackich lub inżynierskich – jeśli jesteś absolwentem wyższej uczelni, nie potrzebujesz wypisu, wystarczy załączyć dyplom ukończenia studiów wraz z suplementem (w języku angielskim lub oryginał z tłumaczeniem)
Course description - należy przygotować dokument, zbierający cały sylabus ze studiów licencjackich. Takie sylabusy najczęściej są do pobrania na stronie uniwersytetu. Należy je przetłumaczyć na język angielski (można samodzielnie) i złączyć w jeden dokument. Warto też zapytać w dziekanacie uczelni, czy nie dysponują wersją angielską.
Oficjalna skala oceniania Twojej uczelni - możesz dostać taki dokument w dziekanacie Twojej uczelni lub skonstruować samodzielnie. W obu przypadkach dokument powinien zawierać pieczątkę dziekanatu.
Spełnienie wymagań w zakresie języka angielskiego można udokumentować w jeden z następujących sposobów:
IELTS – 6.5
TOEFL – 83 (Aarhus University TOEFL kod - 8935)
Uwaga: wymagania językowe mogą ulec zmianie. Przed wysłaniem aplikacji upewnij się jakie są wymagania językowe na konkretny kierunek bezpośrednio na stronie uczelni.
W przypadku zdawania certyfikatu IELTs upewnij się, czy uczelnia oprócz wymagań oceny końcowej nie ma również wymagań odnośnie ocen cząstkowych.
Admission requires a natural science bachelor’s degree from a suitable major.
The following Bachelor degree programmes give direct access to the Master’s degree programme in International Food Quality and Health:
- Molecular Biology with focus on nutrition
- Chemical Engineering and Food Technology (BEng)
- Food Science
The following Bachelor’s degrees can also give admission: Nutrition and Health, Biology, Chemistry, Food Engineering, Food Technology and Agriculture, Food and Environment. The Bachelor degree programmes must at least include a basic course in statistics and biochemistry.
